Rabbit Island Night Dive

April 2, 2021

Things got much more interesting on the first night dive of the trip by Rabbit Island.

Rabbit Island

Sunset

There was an assortment of critters out for the evening. I was using my new Mares EOS 20RZ which provided plenty of illumination.

Crayfish

Tiny Hermit Crabs

Dwarf Scorpionfish

Crab

Things got really interesting when we encountered this ornery John Dory. My buddy and I were a bit behind the group and they were all shining their lights at it which sort of sent it our way.

Eventually the John Dory moved on but a little while later it came back. I had to pitch, yaw, and roll every which way to keep it in frame. It even bumped into my light and camera a couple of times.
