Landing Bay Pinnacle

January 18, 2020

GoPros are great and everything but they have one feature that can be great or awful. If the GoPro is off and you press the shutter button, it instantly turns on and goes into video mode. That's great when something happens quickly and you need to capture it but awful when you accidentally hit the button and it stays on until it runs out of battery.

That's exactly what happened at the end of my last dive so when I got in the water at Landing Bay Pinnacle I was gutted to find that my GoPro's battery was dead. The only creature I really regret not getting a shot of on this dive was a beautiful banded coral shrimp. It was the only one I saw the entire trip too. Oh well...the first thing I did when I got back onboard was charge the thing.

The scenery is absolutely amazing. There is almost always bird song in the air and gannets dive bombing into the water in search of food.
