Smity's Reef

June 6, 2009

Our next dive was a drift dive on Smity's Reef, a deeper dive site than our previous site.  The highlight here was the Antler Corals.  Antler shaped corals densly packed with all kinds of wildlife.  Here are some of pics I got during the dive.

About 26 minutes into the dive my dive computer started beeping.  I took a look at it and discovered I was 3 minutes away from my no decompression limit (NDL).  Oh ya!  Our second dive was deeper than our first.  Usually it's the other way around so I'm not used to getting anywhere close to my NDL on the second dive.  I immediately ascended 10-15 feet and the time to my NDL immediatly went up too, as planned.  The rest of the group was also doing the same.  We spent an extra couple of minutes on the safety stop just to be safe and then we ascended the rest of the way to the surface for pick up by the boat.
